     We were a retired couple that were in search of 'the perfect place' in which to retire.  And we found it.

Originally the url si62901.com was to be a promotional site by my husband and I. We had decided to retire to Carbondale and wanted to share that experience. After long research we determined for several reasons that Carbondale was ideal. And it was/is. However, three months after arriving my husband died of a heart attack. I just was not able to continue with that project. Fast forward two years later. Getting out of the mourning fog, sort of, needing to be involved again. A need became apparent when information vital to my LGBTQ+ community was limited in distribution. So I decided to open Gay Carbondale. Originally a group on FaceBook. 

It seemed a good idea that the si62901.com would be an excellent home for a website version of Gay Carbondale. I then added the gaycarbondale.com url to the mix as well. The purpose here will be to share information. On events, services, life in Carbondale, And whatever the LGBTQ+ community needs to have posted here. Sections on entertainment, art, will also be included. this is a friendly, accepting, and diverse city with tons to offer. I love it here, hope you will to! thanks Len Rogers

All may make posts for events, and to support their business at no charge.  Or members may email me ads directly at len.rogers@si62901.com. Please send a week early at minimum. Include dates of ad availability in ads submitted. Ads will normally be added to the website on Wednesday. 
Major events, entertainment events, and others as need may be able to have full page space. Again at no charge. Entertainment venues, and Events can have generic as well as specific ad space made available. In cases of events I can make sub-domain url available if needed. 
I will not accept hate related ads, adult content ads, non verified sales ads. I reserve the right to accept and or deny ad space on the website. 

A few have asked why ads at no charge? In my transition out of mourning I need something to motivate me. To keep me busy. Gay Carbondale is it. I do not need to make money from the website. This is also my way of  giving back and showing support for Carbondale, surrounding area, and community. At the same time insuring that there is a resource for the LGBTQ+ community and friends to distribute information important to the community.
